Magic Scraper — Terms

The licence

Buying Pro gives you a personal, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use Magic Scraper Pro, including future updates, on any browser or computer you personally use. There is no device limit. You may not resell the licence key, share it publicly, or redistribute a modified build as your own product.

The free version remains free and fully functional — including multi-page crawling — with or without a licence.

Refunds

Email within 7 days of purchase with your licence key for a full refund. Purchases are processed by Gumroad, who act as merchant of record; refunds are issued through them. Your licence ends with the refund and the key can no longer be activated.

The free version exists so you can judge the paid one before paying: it does everything Pro does, including crawling pagination with no page limit, and runs drill-down on the first 3 rows of a run. Trying it on the sites you actually care about will tell you more than any description.

Using it responsibly

Magic Scraper reads pages your browser has already loaded, as you. It does not bypass logins, paywalls, rate limits or bot protection, and it is not designed to.

Whether you may collect data from a particular site is between you and that site. Before scraping, consider the site's terms of service, its robots.txt, applicable copyright and database rights, and — if the data concerns people — data-protection law such as the GDPR. Pace your requests: the speed setting exists so that you can be a considerate visitor, and the default is deliberately gentle.

You are responsible for what you collect and what you do with it. Do not use this tool to harvest personal data without a lawful basis, to evade access controls, or to place an unfair load on someone else's infrastructure.

No warranty

Magic Scraper is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Websites change constantly; detection that works today may not work on a site that is redesigned tomorrow. I fix what I reasonably can, but I cannot guarantee that any particular site will work, keep working, or produce complete or accurate data. Check your exports before relying on them.

To the extent permitted by law, my liability for any claim relating to this software is limited to the amount you paid for it. I am not liable for lost data, lost profits, or any consequence of how the data you collect is used.

Changes

These terms may change as the product does. The date at the top says when they last did. Changes apply going forward, not retroactively to a purchase already made.
