Lead generation
A B2B lead list from the directories you can already see.
The businesses you want to reach are already listed somewhere public: a trade directory, a chamber of commerce, an industry association, a trade show’s exhibitor list. Magic Scraper turns those lists into a spreadsheet — every page, with phones, emails and websites — and tells you which ones you don’t already have.
From a public list to a lead list
Find the list
A directory search for your trade and town, a chamber or association member directory, a show’s exhibitor list. If you can see it in your browser, it can be read.
Every page of it
Click the extension: the listings are found and the columns named — name, phone, address, category, link. Start crawling follows the pages to the end of the list.
Details, then only the new ones
Drill-down adds what is on each listing’s own page — email, website, opening hours. Compare with a file marks the ones that are not in your CRM export yet. Export to Excel or CSV.
What “free” means here: the limits, honestly
Most free lead tools give you a monthly allowance of credits, rows or exports, and charge per lead after that. There are no credits here to run out. Finding the listings, collecting every page of results and exporting to Excel, CSV or JSON are free with no row cap and no page cap, for as long as you use it, with no account.
Two things stop early on the free version, and say so when they do: drill-down — opening each listing’s own page for its email or website — runs on the first 3 rows of a run, and a list of pages runs the first 2 addresses. Pro lifts both and adds Compare with a file, schedules and saved setups, for a one-time $19 at the founding price ($25 after the first 100 buyers). Not a subscription.
The other limit is the honest one: it collects what a public page shows. It doesn’t have a database of contacts, and it doesn’t guess email addresses.
Where B2B leads are listed
Business directories
Every listing on every page of a directory search: name, phone, email, address and category.
Chamber of commerce members
Local businesses that joined their chamber, with addresses, phones and websites.
Association and membership directories
Every member of a trade body or professional association in one industry.
Trade show exhibitors
Companies spending money to sell in your market this year, with booth and profile details.
Only the leads you don’t have yet
Collect the directory, open the Changes tab and choose Compare with a file — your CRM export, as CSV, Excel or JSON. Every row on the page that is not in your file is marked new, and Export the changes saves just those. Rows are matched on a column both have, usually the phone number or website, and a phone matches however it is written. The file is read on your computer and never uploaded.
Put the directory on a schedule and the same comparison shows the businesses that have joined since last time. Both are part of Pro. Pro is a one-time purchase: $19 at the founding price for the first 100 buyers, $25 after that, with every update included.
One trade, many towns
Directories split results by category and place: plumbers in Leeds, plumbers in York, electricians in both. Set the list up once and run it over every results page — they merge into one sheet with a column saying which search each lead came from.
Keeping it clean
Keep to company-level fields — the business, its address, main phone and website — and leave out named people unless you have a clear reason. Whether you may collect from a directory is a matter of its terms; contacting the businesses you find is covered by the rules on marketing calls and email where you are, such as GDPR and the ePrivacy rules in the EU, PECR in the UK and CAN-SPAM in the US. Is it legal to scrape a business directory? sets them out in plain words.
The extension reads one page at a time with a pause between them, waits when a site says slow down, and stops at a “verify you’re human” check rather than trying to get round it.
What it isn’t
It is not a contact database and it doesn’t guess or look up email addresses: it collects what a public page shows you, from the pages you choose. That is also why it costs nothing to run — there are no credits and no per-lead price.
Reasonable questions
Is there a free lead scraper with no limits?
Magic Scraper is a free browser extension with no credits and no row or page cap: every listing on every page of a public directory, exported to Excel or CSV with no account and no per-lead cost. Drill-down into each listing’s own page runs on the first 3 rows free, and a list of pages on the first 2 addresses; Pro, a one-time purchase, lifts both.
How do I build a B2B lead list for free?
Find a public list of the businesses you want to reach, such as a trade directory, a chamber or association member directory or an exhibitor list, open it in Chrome or Edge, click Magic Scraper, crawl every page and export to Excel.
Can it find email addresses?
It collects the emails a directory shows, in the list or on each business’s own page with drill-down. It doesn’t guess or look up addresses that aren’t on the page.
Can it remove leads I already have?
Yes, with Pro. Compare with a file sets your CRM export against the directory and marks only the rows that aren’t in it; Export the changes saves just those.
Is scraping business directories for leads legal?
It depends on the directory’s terms and the rules where you are, especially for contacting people. Keep to company-level fields and read our plain-words guide, which covers the EU, UK and US. It is not legal advice.
